In the Bible, we read of the return of Jesus ...which we refer to as His Second Coming.

Why didn't He establish His kingdom as He created the world ...this world being His kingdom??

I thought of what my life was like for many years.  Actually, I had more than one life.  I wasn't living a double life ...it was just that we have our family life, and a substantial portion of our life has to be dedicated to work. In my case, I hadn't been drawn to the work out of eagerness ...it was for my family that I chose to follow where the work led me (or perhaps it can be said, where God led me).

What I did realize ...was that every prisoner was there as a result of freedom of choice.  Most of the time it was because of their own cumulative choices ...though on the rare occasion that someone was totally set up, it was because of someone else's choice.  But, it was still because of freedom of choice.

One of the prisoners was clearly intelligent, and also showed much evidence of polite upbringing.  He responded eagerly to the chaplain there ...and soon started his own Bible study, along with some of the other prisoners.  He behaved like a model prisoner, and developed trust from many of the guards.

He escaped one evening on Halloween ...when many people throughout most every neighborhood were in costume.  To his advantage, it was also a foggy evening.  Several days went by without any clues to where he was at ...until he attempted to get even with the person responsible for reporting him, sending him to prison. So, though he had seemed to change his ways ...there was no change in his heart.

Without a change of heart ...where is the chance that there will be an enduring change in behavior??  When Jesus came to earth over two thousand years ago, He appealed to people's hearts.  This was the kingdom He set out to establish ...in each and everyone's hearts.

Some people prefer to attempt to blame everything that goes wrong ...on environmental influence. But, the way I view it ...it seems likely that the angels had much more extensive freedoms, and much more individual power & splendor. Was the good environment the downfall for those select fallen angels??

My question is: "Why did the angels rebel??"

The fact is ...they did, and with extensive numbers.  One third is not a small matter. And a third can quickly change most any environment ...with much damage.

Though we know God could have put a stop to it ...and He did.

But, the solution was ...for God to come as a human to save us humans.  And it meant that Jesus was going to have to suffer tremendous torment ...resulting also in a horrific crucifixion.

And to die.
